Gesha variety, washed process
Roasted for filter brewing
Honeydew melon, tonka bean, and hazelnut praline
This gesha variety coffee comes to us from the San Agustín region of Huila, Colombia where it’s produced by Oscar Hernan Garcia.
While he’s a relatively young grower, Oscar has been living and working on his farm for ten years now, learning about increasing quality in coffee production through taking courses and talking with other producers.
The farm itself is called San Isidro. It’s located at around 1,800 metres elevation and on it Oscar grows caturra, laurina, chiroso, pink bourbon, and gesha coffee trees.
While Oscar grows a range of varieties, this particular lot is a gesha selection — a variety that’s typically prized for its sweet, floral, and elegant cup profile.
For us, this coffee is silky and sweet, tasting of ripe honeydew melon, white grape, tonka bean, and hazelnut praline.
This is our first time purchasing from Oscar Hernan Garcia, and have done so through import partners, Osito Coffee.
