It’s not just a drink in a cup – it’s the people, skills and experiences that got it there, and we are forever determined to pay respect to that journey. It’s a careful balance between producing coffee that is both luminous and layered while contributing to the quality of life of those who grow it.
Whilst coffee may be layered, complicated and sometimes even challenge us, by design Bureaux is about taking away the mystery of what coffee is and how it’s produced. Our aim is always to strive towards openness and share our knowledge with our customers, and the coffee community. We’re driven by a proud and curious nature, while forever evolving what our coffee can be and what it represents.
This ethos can be traced back to our founder, Tim Williams, who has held senior roles with a number of renowned coffee brands including Workshop Coffee and Square Mile Coffee Roasters in London, and Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Los Angeles. He believes that a coffee roaster’s responsibility goes far beyond just producing a good product.
This holistic approach informs all of our decisions. It stretches from committing to paying farmers above the cost of production, ensuring they can support their families and reinvest in their businesses, to making climate-friendly choices that cover everything from our packaging to how we light our offices. It informs our choice to donate one percent of our annual gross sales to community and environment projects in coffee communities, via 1% for the Planet.
So, that’s Bureaux. We produce exceptional coffee in a responsible way, and give back to the community because we feel it’s our duty. We care for those who we produce coffee for but also those who we source it from.
