Our first new coffee since launching, and what better interchange to pull off the bench at first rotation than a freshly-landed coffee from Kochere, Ethiopia.
This is very much a ’no experience required’ selection — its sweetness and balance are obvious, and the light, playful texture doesn’t need much by way of explanations. Accessible and enjoyable from the first pass, you can expect a little dried mango and some light toffee.
Scratch the surface, though, and layers begin to unfurl, like Fabrique on a Saturday morning. In the aroma there’s warm cardamom buns, and whispers of butter and honey melting into hot porridge.
The real beauty of this coffee? However deep you choose to go, there’s delights to behold here, for chuggers and savourers a-like.
